Why are older basses "coveted"???

The band saw operator is only making rough cuts.
The router operator put it on a jig and is the one that shaped it to the spec of the fixture

But if the rough cut is inaccurate the router needs to work harder, wear prematurely and yiu profit will go down. Plus that also speaks for your conpany culture.

If the bandsaw operator doesn't care, soon others will follow and your quality goes down. That's not happening over night but there is a reason why overall US companies got into trouble in the 80ties.

Double Bass Removing threaded post from bridge foot.

I see a new bridge in your future. Those threaded rods are glued in and you can't put new feet on an old bridge. Yea you could maybe hacksaw the thread off, put it in the drill press, drill out the rod, drill the hole slightly larger, put a dowel in, drill It and tap it M8 and instal it. Lots of steps and chances of things to go wrong, and hope that the dowel will hold the threads

Ways to keep strings from jumping roller saddles on bass vi bridges?

Maybe a jazzmaster/jaguar Buzz Stop works on your Bass VII too?

It's like a bar that hooks to the tailpiece's front screws and lowers the strings, increasing the break angle over the bridge.
You'd have to investigate if a .130 string can pass under it though.

You know what...I might just leave my phaser on all the time😉

There I said it. Sounds so good with my kind of bass tone, fits in the mix in a way that you almost aren't thinking the bass has something on it, more like, ' that bass sounds good!'.

I've just got the orange one, use it on guitar too.

Now I'm joking of course, I really only plan to leave it on 80% of the time😉.

If you get an old EHX one it’ll definitely sound like it’s on all the time (even when bypassed)

Any recommendations on software to slow music for learning it?

r make a cassette tape copy. You can operate the stop, rewind, stop.play buttons really fast with a little practice.
Transcribe! cost $39.00 and it's forever (lifetime) yours with any/all updates.
It's a very important tool for a bass player.
And some comments how to slow down a song makes me wonder...:meh::rollno:

What is a Fullerton hump ?

This is a detail that has a purpose- as the Geddy photos above illustrate nicely, the hump is there to add a bit of material at the edge of the neck pocket. Without it, the cutaway turnout would taper to a feather edge as it flares into the neck pocket. Feather edges are tough to sand and paint. The hump/bump is there to fatten up that “point” where the neck pocket intersects with the cutaway curve, making it more sturdy and easier to detail and paint.

What's your rig of choice for this weekend? Part 2.

My OBX rig for two weeks. We're on the narrow strip of Hatteras island where from the top deck we can see the sound to the west and the ocean to the east (ocean shown; we're half a block away).

Seafoam bass for the seashore: Faux Fender built by a luthier friend, with asymmetrical neck profile at my request. The little baby Laney amp is all I need... it's highly colored but in a good way IMO.

Uber Eats class action lawsuit alleges their priority delivery is a scam

I would never have someone else deliver food to me.:rollno: I don't have any confidence that they will get the order right.:rollno: I much prefer to go to the market or store, look at the product, inspect it, check the price and pay for it. Done. It gets me out of my apartment for a while. Plus there are the porch pirates who will steal the package right from the driver.:meh: No, I will do it myself and that way it gets done the way I want it. Simple.:) Then you have these drive through lanes which back up into the street causing traffic problems when there are plenty of empty parking spaces. Get off your butt and go inside and get your order.:banghead: Say hello to the person behind the counter and wish them a nice day. Works for me.;)

Double Bass Spirocores... dammit

@what the pluck I can comment on the 3885w Vs S42M on my bass. I vastly prefer the s42 since the strings are thicker and the sound is way meatier, at the same tension approximately.
I cannot stand the G from the 3885w set, while I like the one from the s42M.
But since you've already the 3885m on the way, I'm curious on what your take will be.
Hey there again.. wondering.. do you play Arco and Pizz? How are the s42M as an Arco string compared to the 3885w
