does anyone have spitfires phone number?

I will be posting this MIM Oly White P bass in the classifieds for $550. Upgraded with an Aguilar 4P60 pickup. This bass sounds great with flats or rounds. Satin neck and tortoise shell pickguard. Come with the original white pickguard. Case not included.

Well that DoreMIDI FS-3 footswitch didn’t last long on my board.
The silly thing is, the three switches each have their own preset counter, independent from the others.
After stomping up from say preset 0 to 3 on the C4, pressing the down switch once, I’d expect it to go to preset 2. Instead, it would just decrement from whatever the last preset was when I’d hit the down switch previously. Too much thinking for my old brain, esp on stage.
It’ll be going back to Jeff Bezos.
Replaced by a used Disaster Area DMC Micro Classic, same price, just works.

For both footswitches, you don’t need the Source Audio dongle, just an ‘OTG’ cable with the correct USB connectors

You might be able to find ambient effects that are better than the H90, but I'm not sure you can do it within the same footprint. You'd either need multiple dedicated pedals, a much larger pedal (and most of these focus on amp models, not ambient effects), or a rack unit.

I still love my Nemesis and Ventris, and kinda regret trading my MD-500, but I'd rather give that real estate to dirt pedals.

A month ago I was playing in a house band behind open mikers. Basically a human version of a Kereoke machine. We decided to swap instruments. The other guy says, " Oh, you do the Greatful Dead thing, eh? " I did one tune and swapped back. At home I listened to Phil Lesh. I don't know what the guy was talking about? I think I sound like a guy that learned in a basement, in a cornfield.

Thank you for the info! It's hard to read on my phone. I'll have to open them on my computer later. I'm assuming the bass Q-filter would be the choice for my application. I'll have to read and see if there is a recommended pot resistance(250K or 500K).

I prefer the V1. It gives me a great clean tone. I use other pedals for my drive. I also have routed an acoustic signal chain on my board. Defeating the bass station preamp, I can use the cab Sims for my fretless and ubass. I also use the dry fx loop as a send to my tuner. This allows me to use the tuner for three signal chains - my primary, acoustic, and I have a third signal chain meant for an active bass.

IMHO - the v2 does offer the hot, comp, drive switches, but I'd rather have pedals meant for that than a generic switch that gives average flavors.

Based on the responses to this thread, YMMV.

Looking forward to your take on the v2.

I guess it woould help to know what CAN'T be strapped upside-down. Or what cant be strung likewise, regardless of nut replacement. I like the idea of the knobs being closer, since knob-turning/picking arm is almost 12" shorter.

Hey I’m a lefty too. The only righty basses upside down that sort of feel ok would be a fender jazz, precision or sting ray. The thunderbird is another awesome choice as it balances better upside down than it does normal which is why they make reverse thunderbirds now. I tried a ric 4003 upside down but couldn’t get comfortable so that was the last upside down bass I had.

I have no practical purpose for a 7-string bass; I mainly play a 5er. I only got it because it completes my collection of Conklin Groove Tools basses and the listed price was just something I couldn't pass up. It's a beast to play, though, and I'm certainly not strapping that on. My 50s+ year-old shoulder and back wouldn't last.

In retrospect, bad idea. I kept getting messages from people who didn’t speak much English or French (I’m in Quebec). I was telling my partner, "Why are all these church musicians from different communities interested in my stand?" Then it hit me. They are gospel bassists. They need a B string in this world of 4-string basses. They do not understand I'm selling the stand. They think I'm selling a handmade custom 6 string bass for $30.

I just got the email back.. It is a RS4-21 (Rosewood, standard style, 21 fret 4-string. Originally made without a pickguard.

The electronics have been replaced with the current Sadowsky Metroline preamp assembly,

The original tuners are no longer available. The closest replacement is the Hipshot HB1.

i prepped an eastwood univox for a repaint about a month ago and all i can say is this
that bass was the heaviest bass i have ever worked with, more weight than an ash bacchus more than an old stingray
not sure if this is standard, but just be aware

I replaced with LeSon. I know that speakers have a break-in period so I only pushed it with 500 watts @ 4 ohms with my GK MB500. When I feel it's broken in, I'll use my Mesa Boogie Subway WD-800. I didn't experience any signs of the speakers showing weakness and I had her cranked 3rd and 4th set. Tons of low end even outdoors.

I've been using half-rounds for several decades. They've got most of the brightness of rounds, but don't give you the "zing" noises when sliding from note to note. It's not quite as soft as the classic '60s sound with flats, but I can dial down the tone, use the fleshier parts of the fingers to pick with, and get a sound that's definitely in the right ballpark.

I'm about a 95% "finger style" player, only using a pick on a couple of specific songs where I need more bite than I can get with a fingernail. Unfortunately, I can't get the Di Addario half-round stainless steel strings that I used in the '80s anymore. Those gave a very bright sound which I liked for playing metal, and I didn't need a pick to get the bite I wanted.

... closest image I could find for Super Rounds. DM Super Rounds is the tone I associate with My 'Ray, and it's been so long I can't tell anymore. They were everything a famous English brand offered, but less expensive, longer lasting, and better feeling.

The .040 - .096 Hi-Beams are just settling in now. I know DR .040 - .100 round cores will work within my truss rod's limits because I just swapped out a .040 - .100 Black Beauties set that was only 6 months old

I'm really digging the Hi-Beams. Listen to Ari Cap's Marleaux as much as I do and then she writes (because all her students listen to her Marleaux)

I vote for the control plate option. The Guitar Parts Factory/WD Music one is nice. It doesn't normally work for P basses since it has an extra hole, but now you've got two pickups, so it should be perfect.

There used to be a YT channel called China Guitar Sceptic, don't know if it's still up, but he mainly dealt in guitars. The early videos were mostly horror stories of how he got burned to varying degrees, and I got weiidly fascinated by his determination to keep trying. Over time, he developed a relationship of sorts with a handful of "reputable" (does that even apply to counterfeiters?) Chinese middle men who he was able to get at least half decent guitars out of them. He still had to do a fair bit of work on even the best of them to get them into fully playable condition. He was pretty cagey about sharing the names of these vendors, so that limited the usefulness of his advice. The big takeaway watching them was the essentially random nature of Chinese quality control and varying degrees of sketchiness to the transactions, including outright scams. It's weird, because China is a highly technically proficient, modern economy, capable of building iPhones, Electric cars, and solar panels, as well as every other conceivable consumer gadget. If they decided to concentrate on high quality guitars and basses, they'd eat everyone's Lunch.... but they don't, which is a sigh of relief for the rest of the guitar and bass building companies... for now.

But there's a difference also on the back pu distance from bridge!! better for funky ? or....

It's normal. I remember taking a bass in to Gage's years ago and upon seeing the fingerboard wear went up to about 3rd position, Mike w said, "Ah-a workingman's bass".

I for one don't like the cabsims on the SV or the '64. I greatly prefer the amp out (respective knobs at noon).
Even with the Fifteen I prefer the "non cab sim" sound.
So i would prefer both options:

- with cab sim
- without cab sim

I had the SV twice and the black one as well. I tried to like them both but in the end I don‘t like neither the SVT amp/810 nor get along with the Fender tone stack. I sold both and got the Fifteen, which I REALLY LOVE.
