Totally agree, but some newer amps can get some quality grit on the front end, but the power section may be different, though GB gets some good sag from their design.

The Shuttle 9.0 can get some really warm gooey overdrive, the tone (to me) was identical to my coveted OCDV3, I ended up selling the OCD because the Shuttle covers this ground. Especially with the 1955 Mullard ECC83 in there. I got that tube from Charlie Kittleson a few years before he passed away. I purchased 6 of them NOS NIB.
