As a lover of all things FrankenBass/Partscaster, I feel kinda like that weird Mopar guy in the middle of the Chevy vs. Ford wars. In fact that was me in high school--- lover of the funky Torqueflite Transmission tied to a 426 Hemi or a 340 wedge, when all around me were Hurst and Muncey Transmissions tied to 350's and 427's. Just never really was a brand name guy I guess.
I can relate. But you wouldn't drop by every Shelby Cobra thread to tell everyone how awesome your Chevy Nova is I'm hoping.
I used to play some gigs back in the 70s with Paula's Sire, Paul A. Poundstone.
You're starting to sound like GNL2000. After he recently cancelled his Sire order, he suggested that someone buy a Sire and have it shipped to him if "you really want to prove how wrong I am about Sire". You might want to ask if he had any takers. Maybe they'll send you one too.

I know you have a great reputation as a skilled builder and luthier and I've enjoyed reading your posts over at the Luthier's Corner. I have to say I've found some of your posts on this thread to be rather disconcerting, as well as unnecessary, to say the least.

I can play that song in 450 bpm on a jigsaw but i can't play it on my american standard jazz bass at all!

I practice at home alone and have collector derived interest in instruments.
Both guitar and bass.
Most recently bass so I was being honest in my ignorance as to sire....sorry
Yeah, as a Mopar (Chrysler Dodge Plymouth) Lover, I doubt I would tout the wonders of a Chevy Nova under any circumstances. I do, however see your point. Lots of patronizing going on in The Sire Department. Never played one myself. I was disappointed to see that the 5 String is only a 34" scale. Not that that should matter too much for most folks, but my Low "B" is always drop tuned to a low "A", so I need a 35" minimum scale...Thus the FrankenBasses.....even my uprights are Frankenbasses/Partscasters. Now I might put a fully blown RoadRunner up against that Cobra.....but that's a different thread altogether.

No need to be sorry. A big reason that guys are hyping the Sires on here. Since you can't walk into GC or Sam ash, or what ever your favorite MI store and expect to see one, so word of mouth has been the best way.
