Request - ease up on the Sire advocacy

It's a shame this has devolved into name calling.

Just curious, if someone on here questions the quality of your basses, without actually having owned or even played one, should we believe them? If they say they can tell, just by looking at some pictures, that your basses couldn't possibly be as good as Brand B, should we take their word for it? Or should we give more credence to the comments of someone who owns, or has played, one of your basses and also owns, or has played, Brand B?

Well, I never questioned the quality of Sire basses. I never questioned the fit and finsh, build quality ect. What I did do, is point out that it has inferior hardware compared to the American Standard that other people have said it is equal to. Now, considering that my basses use Hipshot hardware for the most part, and Duncan pickups at minimum, along with Bourns pots, and switchcraft jacks, I don't think anyone could question the quality of my hardware or electronics. Which is the only thing I have questioned about these basses.

Back to this "covert endorsement" stuff....
I learned about "Double-Secret Probation" years ago from watching Animal House, but this is the first time I've ever heard of "Double Secret Endorsement".
Will wearing a tin-foil hat protect me from from these unknown & apparently undesireable endorsers?

Please refrain from wearing sire pledge pins on your TB uniform also.

Yeah, as a Mopar (Chrysler Dodge Plymouth) Lover, I doubt I would tout the wonders of a Chevy Nova under any circumstances. I do, however see your point. Lots of patronizing going on in The Sire Department. Never played one myself. I was disappointed to see that the 5 String is only a 34" scale. Not that that should matter too much for most folks, but my Low "B" is always drop tuned to a low "A", so I need a 35" minimum scale...Thus the FrankenBasses.....even my uprights are Frankenbasses/Partscasters. Now I might put a fully blown RoadRunner up against that Cobra.....but that's a different thread altogether.

Yeah, I feel ya, but I see that from every kind of owner. "Oh, you need a ((whatever bass poster plays))" is the most common thing in the TB universe, and is not limited to Sire.

Everyone should play a Warwick.

You should really try a Carvin they're great
Uhm oh yeah my Squier is better than a USA Precision V .. (after I drilled it for string through, upgraded the electronics, replaced the nut, and replaced the bridge with a USA Fender bridge)
