The chances of him finding a used Euro 5LX in that colour with the newer pickups and the single/dual coil option are very slim never mind for $800, but I do see where you're coming from.

True on that. He was just in the right place at the right time.

Best I ever got was when I bought my Rex, it was on ebay for 15 min with a BIN of $350 with case, not a scratch on it. If I had thought about it for any time at all it would have been gone. I hit the button first and then checked the bank lol.

I do know people who run into crazy cheap deals all the time though, it kills me. :bawl: :scowl:

And absolutely... the My Spector Story videos allow average non-pro musicians to share their stories in the same light as people like Doug Wimbish and Abe Millett...

I thought the story I shared was funny because here's a magazine cover and story that I was able to slip a couple of Spectors in the shot. That's all.

Ah, I'da done the same. I paid average price for my Euro 5LX and probably could've found one used for a couple hundred less, but I found it locally and love the colour of it, plus it was in mint condition, and IMO worth every dollar I spent.

I was just teaching my 4th graders in my elementary music classroom, they were listening to a piece of music and their music books have them chanting along with the rhythm. The book is using words for rhythms, tiger, bear for eighth notes (2 sounds) and bear for quarter notes (1 sound). They are pretending they are out on a safari in the book.

I came to my desk and saw these awesome pictures (Great job as always Patrick) and thought, man, those Spectors look like they are totally Predators in the back ground stocking that Fender...

So I uh, just now realized that Spectors don't have jacks mounted on the front of the body. I was showing a friend my new bass last night and saw a hole in the side of the body where a barrel jack had once been. *facepalm*

Good thing I have a barrel jack laying around. What should fill that hole with? Maybe this is a sign that I need to install a 3 band preamp.

Right, problem is the bass I'm getting is one that I've wanted for almost ten yrs! It's a redwood USA Peavey Cirrus 6... And as much as I've become a Spector convert, i still love the Cirrus! Plus I've committed, the TBer basically pulled his bass off the market to give me time to sell some gear, i don't want to repay him by renegging. I've done that before thinking it wouldn't be a big deal, but it was, and I still feel bad about it....

Oh but that Zebrawood.................

I would buy this bass if I had the money. Its gorgeous and I'd say the price is definitely rright, regardless of the preamp. The dots and solid maple wings are a dealmaker for me.

Ouch!! didn't notice that. Guys drilling holes again that don't need to be there! :scowl:

Is that a Vol/vol/bass/treb setup? If so you might stick a master vol in there. that's the only drawback to the vol/vol setup imo. Or just a kill switch would work too.


Love the black quilt btw.

I could try and describe it with names like punchy, balzy, clear, smooth, grippy, edgy, gritty, but above all is TONE! And this still doesnt describe the feeling I have right now for my Spector. I loved it before, but Im freaking obsessed now for sure! One of the best little investments I've ever made to improve sound quality IMO.

I did put a few sound samples into Logic of the tone pump with different settings, I'll put down the Aggie when I get a little time and post the results.

Im totally blown away!

Yeah, I have a 70' hollowbody that I've had the same set of flats on for about five years. But as I posted earlier I change rounds very frequently.
