Check your ohmage on the GK top...I bet it's a 4 ohm min. load.If your 2 10 cab is an 8 ohm. try to find an 8 ohm. 15 cab. Hook those up together and you are probably like what you hear.Or aquire the TNT 130.Those amps do sound good. Have had one in the past ..and have a Peavey Mark Bass top as...

Yep, A "real" one.And have owned a few Ampeg pieces.I never could dial in a tone I liked.But thats just me..listen to Victor or any of those guys they sound great. But to me a bit muddy and monotone.I always went back to SWR..and is where I have stayed. SO Ampeg folk don't get riled up...

I put some Duncan Quarter Pounder split Pbass pups in a Squire..sounded pretty good.I would look at the cost of a set of EMG or Bart active as opposed to passive set.The tonal range you get w/either of these sets will far surpass a passive set. And w// not just tons more $$invested. Or at lweast...

Human Bass is correct..the batt. is for the Pre....not sure how to bypass.I gave an unsucessful attempt w/ an old "EMG Box"...A friend that is an EMG dealer had a bow w/ all the preamp and doo dads hooked up.Just plug n' play.But I couldn't bypass my EQ on my Ibanez to really get an idea. Good...

OK Spector fans..I have a Legend 5 Bubbinga ...wasn;t too hip on Tone Pump JR. Replaced w/ EMG CS and DC pups. Along w/ EMG BQC control.It just rocks!! I was afraid I would loose the "Spector Tone" to as degree extracting the Tone Pump JR. pre but the "tone" remained !!Only better ..in my ears...

I have ran into that w/ guitar players...They usually want to over amp a room.Sounds like you are playing tight places to begin with.And I see no need to use the guitar amp as a stage monitor. If they are too loud pointing the cab to the room..guess what it's going to be too loud for the stage...
