My ONLY consideration is that I would prefer them ALL to be differnet colors....other than that.....no consideration....

Not looking forward to loosing my only P but i am looking forward to getting a Lakland again. This will tied me over until i can get a BG5 ;-)
I believe it has Lakland pups on it. Thats a shame as while i have no experience with them i absolutely loved the Fralin on my Duck Dunn and have heard great things about the Jazz set as well.
Im using Chromes on the P5 at the moment but they will go with the Bass. I think ill put a set of Elixirs on the JO5 when i get it but might got back to Chromes (or at least flats) at some point. I quite fancy some overtones in my sound for a while.

so, the big question is what pick guard ot go for. It comes with the off white one but i dont like white. Ive seen some great pics on the Dudepit photo gallery of this bass with a black one on. I think that will be great but open to ideas. Anyone got any pics of the JO5 with the above finish?

NO THUMBREST!!! I hate those things (fire suit on!) - I think they break up a perfectly beautiful bass!

I anchor on the body....yeh - there is a little getting used to it...but you will adapt!!!! i bet it sounds awesome!

You guys may know that none of the guys in Third Obsession are spring chickens. We actually formed the band to keep doing something musical even though our lives were too hectic to devote more than a day (sometimes 2) per week to writing and recording. Heck, most get-togethers last only an hour and a half. Even so, we clicked and quickly realized that we had to do something besides jam in a basement and record ourselves.

Tonight, the relative unknowns (we've had <10 gigs in the last 1.5 years, hehehe) beat 4 well known local acts, one of which has won something like 5 battles. We get over 5K in prizes including studio time w/ a grammy nominated, Dove winner and we get to open for a major heavy/hard rock name when they come to town. We've tried for months to get gigs at the popular places, but couldn't cause we basically had no connections or respected references. I feel like Rocky Balboa :D.

I TOTALLY GET IT! It sounded good solo, but holy cow, in a band setting (three piece rock) it was just RIGHT. Can't wait to hear it through my full rig instead of the practice rig.

Oh yeah, already adjusting to the "lack of a thumbrest". I just have to get used to that sharp corner (the Nordy P/U doesn't have a nice rounded corner like most J pups). Regardless, I'm in love!

sweet!!! yup...a P sits great in the mix....that is why mine is not going anywhere until I can get another P - bassed bass!

after some time with the bass, i have decided that the bart system is not as agressive as i would like for the band im in.
