The "Night Rod" variant of the v-rod, from 2006-2008, includes the "D" model that comes standard with mid pegs. They discontinued it in 2009. My bike is the "DX" model, or Night Rod Special, which has forward controls and a 240mm rear tire instead of 180mm. Her bike:

    Show us your Motorcycles!

It rides great, but it just depends on what you're looking for. It's fast for an all-steel 750+lbs bike, but won't run with the sportbikes, especially in corners. It can hold it's own stoplight to stoplight because it has a launch and torque advantage. Gearing tops it out at just over...

14 year old arrested for posting nude pics of self

+1 As a cop I'm outraged by the misuse of the law in this case. The next step is charging teenagers with child molesting when they masturbate. This is an education issue, not a criminal issue. If anything good comes from the publicity, it is that it will be a wakeup call to the...

    Recording the VT Bass

I run it in my Zoom B9.1UT's effects loop and have a patch setup that has the effect loop as the only effect in the patch. It sounds identical to when it's used alone. I have some effects programmed into that patch but they are switched off most of the time I'm using it. I also use it to...

Warwick 5'ers - anybody use DR Blk. Beauties?

It will work but it will take some modification. I had to pinch the string by the ball to get it through, and file the saddle slightly to get it to seat in the bottom of the groove.

    HI-Beams: Is this normal?

    String tension...

My understanding on string tension is that it's based primarily on gauge, so going to higher gauge strings will increase your tension. Again, as I understand it, hex core strings aren't higher "tension", but are higher *stiffness*. This can feel like higher tension but the force on the strings...

Wal Mart and their ridiculous practices

When it come to the cops responding to an arrest made by employees of a store, they're not going to give a rip what the company policy is. For them, it's all about state law. Store security or employee arrests fall under the citizen arrest state for whatever state they're in. Some allow...

    The Returning Bassist Club

I stopped playing at age 22 in 1991 after playing in a party band during my college years. Held onto my gear until about 1995 and then sold it all. Marriage and life got in the way. 17 years later I got the bug again. Still fighting GAS on a regular basis and playing every day.

theory on my blood sugar issues

If you really want to know, then your doctor needs to put you through a glucose tolerance test. Since I've already done it, about 11 years ago, I can tell you that your experiences and symptoms are very very similar to mine. After battling symptoms that I didn't know the cause of, I eventually...

    Looking for Love Advice

It does suck, but the "phases of grief" are a necessary path to walk. Bitterness is perfectly healthy. Don't give her any more control over how you feel than she already has, and let the bitterness chip away at what's left of that control...that's what it's there for.

    Looking for Love Advice

What you're dealing with is totally common and totally normal. I'm about to turn 40 and I'm the poster child for "nice guy". You're both young. When you're young you have your priorities screwed up and you do stupid stuff (this phase repeats itself about every 10 years). What she's telling...

Warwick double buck $$ setting preference

I just double checked mine and pulling the knob out doesn't effect hum or hiss at all except in single coil mode, where pulling it out actually decreases the slight hum that's there at high volume.

Warwick double buck $$ setting preference

See now you're gonna make me pull out the manual... For me, switches down is redonkulous mode, which is humbucking parallel. I use this the most. Switches middle is humcancelling single coil. Switches up is humbucking series. I use this the least.

Warwick double buck $$ setting preference

/subscribed Most of the time I admit I'm in redonkulous mode (great word to describe it). It's just so punchy and full that it's hard to change out of it. I keep the onboard eq flat, or with some bass rolled off just a touch. When I'm messing around with softer stuff while practicing and...

I wouldn't worry about upgrades. You're getting a perfectly functional entry level guitar that will play the notes you fret, so as long as it's setup correctly your focus should be on practicing and learning how to play. What amp are you getting?

I'm playing on the David Letterman show tonight!

I'm totally jealous. The "are you in the band?" question from Dave, and the hired gun keyboardist's facial expression in response, was pretty funny. I didn't like the way they mixed it. Matt's voice sounded good. Aaron's(?) guitar was too loud. Everything else was too quiet. You sounded...
