A tube harmonic trem would be incredible, dialling in just the right amount of saturation to make it sing

I bought an Oracle (which being based in the UK means a heavy hit of import duties) before any Sushi pedals, and while it's a lovely pedal, and the combo of the Drive knob and the range control are pretty special, I think if I'd have bought the Sushi pedals first I wouldn't have been tempted by...

While I love the fact that the GS stays clean, I really love what it does with something a little bit gritty in front of it, because of all the "warmth and heft" it has (I know, buzzwords galore) it seems to really take a bit of drive nicely without it sounding like you're using an overdrive...

Ah I love the linden, such a great pedal, I team it up with either the finally or more as a super compact setup from time to time

Yeah I was also surprised that it's been a bit quiet on the SBVT front, although the few bits I've heard are pretty amazing. I'm buying a motorbike so once that's done, an SBVT will very likely be on order to add to the sushi selection, although it'll have a hard time against my grand slampegg...

I don't have experience with the Venus Z, but I have a per my last email and a finally v2, The finally definitely sounds warmer/thicker/fatter than the PMLE set flat, although boosting a little of the lower end changes that, however it's a slightly different flavour of it. This is with the gain...

I have two starting points I use depending on what I'm going for, either squishy but with lots of clean blend, so comp up ~75% Sens low, attack low and then blend to taste. Or the more subtle setting with the comp at about a third, and then attack at 12ish and sens somewhere over half way...

The grand slampegg does the clean fat thing brilliantly, that's exactly what I use it for. I don't have an sbvt (yet) so I can't compare, but I've never found the GS to be wanting in the fatness department.

LO RIDER fan. Will I be happy with Elixirs?

I'm a fan of the Nickel Lo Riders, and I haven't found anything that's all that close for me, I'd have expected the stainless ones to last a bit longer, but I guess they're starting from a brighter starting point? When I've been playing lots I use naptha on a cloth to clean down the strings...

Probably not really the intention of the pedal, but how does the JCE do at clean/edge of break up on guitar?

As an owner of one of the original 20 I wouldn't be mad, I think the more people that try this style of preamp the better. Between that and the Grand slampegg they've been my go to single pedal solution for a little while now

Single slice compressor might be a slightly left field option, with the compression set pretty low it still gives plenty of warmth and tube feel, plus you've got the option of a bit of extra compression if you want it.

If you're thinking about a troubleshooting eq, I'd recommend looking into the tech21 Q Strip. It's a really versatile tool, with an XLR out, hpf and lpf, two semi parametric mids, it often travels in my gig bag as a backup for a range of situations.

I really like running a 12AT7 in my v2 finally, with the gain up around 1 or 2 o'clock it starts to really bring in the colouration without driving super hard and is a manageable level (although I'm running mine into a power amp rather than the front of the amp so the extra level is welcome)

You can also get adapters that can be switched for phase, these are ones available over here, but for about £10 there's likely to be plenty of others, although I vote get a More... Link...

    In praise of Warwick Gnome

I bought the non pro 200W version about 4 years ago for silly money (about £90 if I remember correctly) mostly as a backup or for low volume band call rehearsals, but I have to agree, it's a really great amp for so little. It doesn't really look budget, and it sounds a lot better than I think it...

If you're putting the more in front of the amp it's likely to make it break up/drive the preamp harder vs whatever gain setting you have the amp dialled to, like using a bass with a higher output. if anything you'll likely end up with less clean volume. Unless I'm missing something obvious.

So after a few weeks of waiting on postage and UK customs, it finally arrived. First impressions are very good, the eq is amazing, even doing stupid things like maxing all the controls it still stays clear and musical. I'll try it out properly with the amp when I have enough time, but at the...

Yeah the customs charges suck, but I definitely haven't regretted getting the GS, it's become my go to for a whole heap of situations. If you can justify the cost, I'd pretty much guarantee you'd forget about it in a couple of months.

    Need digital modeler advice

Hotone Ampero ii Stomp, they've recently released the firmware to be able to use NAM captures, (I think the Valeton products have done so as well). you can get their midi footswitch that you can connect and control via bluetooth as well, this would likely work for any midi capable unit.

Neutrik Speakon to 1/4" for Mesa D800+

If you go with the cable, I'd check the gauge of the wire is enough to handle the power of the amp, there's plenty out there that are, but you probably don't want the smallest gauge if you're using an 800W amp

Sushi question - UA into Finally V2

I use exactly that setup, UA into finally V2 on one side of my stereo board, I'm very happy with the sound. I think because the preamps are essentially the same they work well together, and the finally is clean enough to complement pretty much anything before it.

Which effect pedal do I need? (NEW TO EFFECTS)

If you're looking for the possibility of adding in a few effects to a song and don't need amp modelling etc then one of the TC plethora pedals might be a good bet, essentially gives you all of their different tone print capable pedals in one unit. If you're likely to set up a particular sound...

I think the single slice does what a lot of people want from a "non surgical" compressor, added warmth, fatness etc along with the compression, I actually think the other alternative would be an optical pedal, for instance diamond type in the loop of a greenhouse, that way you get the best of...

I haven't used the hx stomp, but for anything digital I've used, having a finally at the end sounds amazing. I know I've said it before, but it's really refreshing seeing the way you aim to continually improve and develop your products, unlike most brands that sit on a design for years and years to make the most of the initial design work they did. It might not be the most economical thing to do in a...

The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Well that was a nice surprise of a drop, I've been toying with the idea of a Venus Z for ages, but with the ridiculous import duty we seem to be getting here now it was making it a fairly expensive proposition for a pedal I likely wouldn't use as often as my other sushi products. Then this comes...

Speaking of the More, I was swapping things about on my big board last night (mostly to wire in a new delay) and man that pedal makes effects sing. pedalboard manufacturer that can power a Arkham Oracle

Yeah echoing tidbits, I use a Cioks Crux fed from the DC7 to power my oracle. I think mission might also do a high current box if I remember correctly. The Oracle needs something in the region of 1400mA to power it I think.

I have both, although I've mostly used them on either side at the end of a stereo chain rather than one into the other, but based on how the UA seems to work nicely as a boost into pretty much anything I'd imagine it'd work. I might even try it out later this evening if I get some spare time
