I got the short scale thunderbird after an injury. I kept it for the punchy tone. Little thing hits like a brick wall. I think the body is actually a firebird ;)

Yep, the luthier said just glue and clamp and it is rock solid. I have seen some sorta hideous volute repairs over the years and some spline type that were performed like works of art.

Great stuff... Here is a very timely old reggae tune (dem wearing, de Adidas, de Puma). Live Reggae like this with a thunderbird would be the coolest thing ever.

Yeah, massive. Thunderbirds are not just for rock. Funny how every time I play a reggae bassline my rocker bandmates get this look of fear on their faces. I don't get it. Really guitar guy, can you hold off to the second beat?

Frankly Floridians could use a dose of fear right about now. I have had to turn down way too many irresponsible invitations to gather. Much of the state revels in moronic redneck logic. Just staying put and practicing with the best sounding, coolest basses on the planet.

Lets hear about your first thunderbird experiences !!! Late 70's a friend let me hold a bicentennial while he was going through some issues. I didn't gig with it for fear of damage but I found it very interesting while noodling. I tried to buy it but he wasn't having it. Early 2000's I paid...

I have heard of multi-family garage sales. This was a multi-family house xmas party gig. Their lil 20 Amp breaker was no match for my thunderbird. I had to cut some lows and the party continued.

Soylent Green. What a great flick. A Clockwork Orange was another. What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got, say, pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angels' trumpets and devils' trombones. You are invited!

Eventually I did get a 2nd Lull Pup for the bridge. And wood floors. But I still like this pic. Looks like I was also trying some foam mutes on the bridge for that funky thud.

Every kid on my block would get on their bike and ride behind the DDT mosquito fogger truck as our parents watched laughing and huffing on their unfiltered Camels while downing dry martinis by the pitcher. Oil changes were done dirt cheap.

If social distancing is practiced correctly the peak numbers will flatten but the duration will lengthen. Feeling a bit like an Inca...

Yes, and I also prefer a house with more modest sized living rooms so that the TV can go against one wall and a couch can go against another instead of having a couch out in the middle of the room surrounded by wide virtual hallways that I need to air-condition. Yes indeed. Here in East Central Florida we get relatively mild ones... sometimes they are embedded in tropical storms. This band plays 80's stuff like tears for fears, the cure, etc and a odd lot of 90's alternative along with a few classic rock songs like wheel in the sky by Journey.
